Here in the Arkansas Ozarks, the daffodils are in full bloom, the vinca is sporting beautiful periwinkle blue blooms, the forsynthia is popping yellow and everything is starting to bud. We probably will still see some more frosts yet. There are more nights of loading wood into the stove to ward off the chill. However, it is St. Patrick's Day which is always a promise for the trees and lawns to turn green. The neighbor is reporting that the trout are biting and has been spending a lot of time at the river. It is so nice to have trout in the freezer for special dinners, but the smoked trout he brought me yesterday is a gourmet treat! Thanks, Mike!
This Spring I will be finishing my new patio and outdoor kitchen. It will be nice to have friends over to grill out and use the cobb oven. I'm collecting pizza recipes and barbeque recipes in anticipation. Before I start salivating over the mere thought of all that good fooe, I have a bit of work to do finishing up the retaining wall and the counters with the built in grill. The fireplace still needs finishing rock. It won't be long before I will need to start the garden. The spring sunshine is promoting energy in the ground and in me.
In the meantime, I have projects happening inside. I should be done with the floors and spring cleaning in a couple of weeks. Seems there is never enough time when you have to go to a job every day. I'll keep you posted.
